Slips & Falls Blitz

Ministry of Labour in Ontario Blitz for Slips & Falls. The MOL is now posting its workplace hazard blitz ahead of time. If you are an employer or bring sub trades on to your job site, maybe its time you protect yourself and checked items like non slip shoes or ladder protection.

Here are some facts that can initiate such a blitz

60,000 Canadian workers are injured for slips, trips and falls each year. That’s about 15% of all lost time across the country.

WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR:

MOL inspectors will be looking for checklists that will help control the hazard and the employers acknowledgement that hazards exist. You can do this through postings and policies and procedures, and proof of training just to list two. It is also a good time to look at your personal protective equipment such as shoes and ladder protection.
